Wow! It's been TWO months since I posted on here? I'm kind of surprised! Well, a lot has been going on since my last post. We FINALLY got completely moved in! YAY!!! I'm so happy to be living in my grandmother's house, next door to my childhood home. It took a lot of hard work, but it's paid off! One of the major holdups was the kitchen. I had literally over a dozen cabinets and drawers to clean out and go through. Packed full. How much Tupperware did ONE woman need? I found at least 8 different types of old Tupperware, full sets, mixed pieces, duplicates. All old, and well used. Probably close to 75 pieces of Tupperware. I set aside the pieces I wanted to keep (About a dozen pieces) and set aside the rest for a garage sale. Also in the cabinets were lots of old serving pieces, full and mixed plate sets, glass pitchers, cups, glasses, ALL kinds of stuff! I plan on selling all the old Wal-Mart plates and cups I've been using and just use Nan-Nan's (my grandma) nice stuff. I'm honestly surprised her stuff is all still there after all these years and other people living there. (I guess since it was her current husband living there after she passed away on '03, and then another family member after he passed away a few years later, they weren't worried about going through ALL that stuff while living there.) But it's really awesome to be living here now! I knew when we checked out the gas pipes they were old and I didn't want to be on Gas anyway, so we had to replace the water heater. We needed a bigger one anyway, there's NO WAY 40 Gal. is enough for the long, hot showers I take. Hell, the trailer we moved from had a 55 gal. and it was barely enough! ;) Anyway, long story short we now have a 80 Gal. electric Hot water heater. And it BARELY fits! LOL, I measured and everything, and didn't take into account the gas line there where it was hooked up to the old one. Luckily, AJ's Uncle, who hooked it up for us, had some blocks perfect to put under it and Voila! It fit!!
So needless to say I haven't had time for any blogging. But, I've gotten settled in, more or less, and I'm so excited to start sharing again!

It's October! November is fast approaching and Thanksgiving will be here soon. I'm super excited to be able to host Thanksgiving in a house that all the family will fit in! I'm a full scale Thanksgiving cook. I like to do the works. And there's a lot of people invited. Like 26 people by my last count.
My Thanksgiving Day Menu:
Mmmhhhhhh. I can't wait until November. :D I'm sure you can see why. This is a HUGE spread for quite a lot of family though, and a lot of hard work goes into it, but I LOVE IT! It makes me so happy to see everybody enjoying the food at the end of the day. Did I mention I have to get up at 6 am to start preparing just about everything for Dinner way later that afternoon, at like 6 or 7 pm. I make just about everything from scratch, from the cornbread for the Chicken Dressing, to the creamy Mashed Potatoes and gravy. And usually AJ's mom brings the Ham. It's a delicious country smoked Ham from the small country store type restaurant she works at. Their food is great, and during the holidays they sell huge smoked Hams, and they're to die for! I'll get some pics up when Thanksgiving rolls around. This year, I'm encouraging all the family that's invited over to bring a side, or dessert, or anything! I'm going to be using the stove and oven at the trailer to cook all my food, since the cooktop and oven over here at the house is Gas, and therefore not useable. I'm currently cooking with a convection over, microwave, and an electric skillet. Limited meals, to say the least. But it's ok, When I save up and get the stovetop, and oven I want, it'll be awesome! :)
