Hi-yo! First off, My name is Tammy. Hello to all! This is completely new to me,
I've never blogged before. I guess I'll have to open a Twitter account, just
because. I suppose I should explain the blog title, Pink Moogle Headquarters.
Well I love Moogles from the Final Fantasy game series. Kupo to those of you who know! :) I have just always liked the race of small, winged, furry creatures known as Moogles. I consider this to be the Headquarters of all my Moogle-y thoughts and ideas. The name is quirky, like me.
Now on to the good stuff. My newest mania is definitely monthly subscription boxes. How awesome is it that you can have a mystery box delivered to your door, every month?!? And they come in all flavors, too! I've seen all kinds of boxes, from the over-abundance of beauty boxes, like BirchBox-$10/Month and GLOSSYBOX-$21/Month, to pets boxes, like BarkBox for dogs-$29/Month, and Pawalla for cats and dogs-$26/Month. Even Food boxes like NatureBox-$19.95/Month, and Love with Food box-$12/Month.
I personally love surprises, grab-bags, anything where you have a chance of getting something pleasantly surspising is a thumbs up in my book! It started with BarkBox. I couldn't resist. My sweet pomeranian, Stinky, is in desperate need of some new toys. She has thoroughly chewed and roughed her toys up! She definately loves the stuffing-less animals, those fly pretty far when she gets to shaking and tossing them around, so vicious! :)
The next thing I came across was LootCrate. Gaming and Geek items for the gaming geek in your life. I couldn't decide if I wanted this for myself, or for my fiance A.J., ultimately I decided to make this a gift for him. This months theme is Token.
Awesome! I have a feeling no matter what comes, we'll probably like it. We are both avid gamers and geeks, so this box just made sense!
I started thinking, if there's a BarkBox, is there a MeowBox/CatBox? I found Pawalla, a company that caters to feline lovers. They offer choices between cats, and different sized dogs. If BarkBox turns out to be a dud, I may sign Stinky up for this. In the cat section, it asks the age of your kitty, so I assume that will make a difference in the variety of treats and things they send. My
kitty Jack is in the 7+years category, so I hope they don't send kitten treats or something! They offer two choices of boxes, the Standard box contains: 6-10 premium full-size products, wet food, treats, supplements or vitamins, essentials, and a toy. The Mini box contains 3-5 premium full-size products, treats, a toy and surprise item(s). No wet food.
The Mini box was perfect for Jack, I don't feed him canned wet food. I can't stand the smell, in the can, or the finished product after my cat's done with it. Gross.
They say their boxes contents are all natural or organic, and hand-selected and reviewed by their Pet Nutritionist. And it's Free Shipping! Awesome all around, or should I say Paw-some! ;)
The Standard box is $29/Month, and the Mini box is $17/Month. They offer discounts for the 6 month and the 12 month
subscriptions. I opted for the 6 month Mini box for $14/month. I looked up coupon codes for Pawalla and found $5/off on Couponfollow.com with code FLOPPYCATS, so I got my subscription for $79.
At this point I decided I wanted a box for me, so I started researching Monthly subscription box lists. And wow, just, wow! I found RamblingsOfASuburbanMom.com, she has an amazing list. I found several things, now I'm torn between a different gaming/geek box called BootyBin, a lifestyle box called Yuzen, and a healthy snacks box called NatureBox.
I decided next I want to get the NatureBox of healthy snacks. The featured Blueberry Nom-Noms from last months box looked delicious, if the food is anything like that, I'll be happy. So all in all it's 3 boxes to look forward to for the next 6 months. I was beyond excited for them to arrive!
I ordered Pawalla and LootCrate just in time for us to recieve them for this month, and they arrived yesterday.
Since we live in the country, Jack is an outside during the day, inside at night cat. So he hunts and treats himself to rats and other tasty rodents. He does like the Cat Greenies. When our dog Stinky goes potty in the mornings, we let her have some time to run around and go potty, but she's quickly done, anticipating her favorite treats, the Dog Teenie Greenie. She comes running back for her treat, and Jack has decided that he deserves his Cat Greenies when she gets hers. They have us trained well. :)

April is almost over, May is bringing Mother's Day. I always try to do something nice for my Mama and A.J.'s mom for Mother's Day. Usually it's a vase of flowers. I love florist quality flowers, but can't afford them. I save lots of money by buying the full size vases at my local thrift store, usually they have a twice a year sale where you can fill a brown paper bag for $2. so I'm able to get around 4-6 vases, depending on size, for super cheap! I have storage tubs full of future gifts and craft projects. When it's a holiday like Mother's Day, Wal-Mart has the usual selection of daisys, carnations, and roses. I like to get a large variety and make my own arrangements! I usually only spend around $10.-$20. and I can make at least two full arrangements, and sometimes I have leftovers to make a smaller arrangement for myself, or a friend! Much cheaper than the hundreds of dollars you can spend on, admitedly nice and hassle-free, arrangements. I also love to cut the flowers I buy and arrange them myself, feels more personal. :)
When I get done with the vases I tie a pretty ribbon around them and make a big bow, usually the kind with wire in it, so I can bend it like in the pic. Wal-Mart or Brookshires Brothers in town usually have mini balloon on a sticks that are perfect for vases, I like them for Mother's Day, Birthdays, and other special occasions.

April in East Texas has the rose bushes and flowers in full bloom! My
beautiful pink rosebush outside has exploded with buds and has really got it smelling good outside. The breezy warm weather today has me wanting to go do something outside, it feels great! So much needs to be done at the house I'm moving into, and we're finally past the plumbing and can actually mop the floors! Yay! But I have the whole weekend. Except for Sunday night. At 8 I have an appointment in Westeros. ;) I love Game of Thrones, and look forward to it every week. My favorite character? Lady Brienne of Tarth. I also like Aria Stark and Gendry's story. But all the characters, even the bad ones, are great, and enjoyable to watch every episode. It's in it's third season. After Game of Thrones we watch The Borgias. It's about the Borgia Pope of 1490's and his family. It's been good so far, it's in its third season also. So Sunday night is our T.V. night. It's funny we're like an old couple that has to be home for Wheel of Fortune at a specific time!
