Happy New Year! January 2016, the beginning of a great year! This year marks a whole new chapter in my life, and I'm excited! On New Years Eve I like to write a list of crap I'm done with for the year down on paper and the crumple it up and burn it with fireworks! It feels good to burn all the crap I'm done with for the year! :) I made a list of New Years Resolutions too. Practical resolutions, not stuff like lose 60 Lbs. in a month, or something equally unatainable or unreasonable. Last night we popped fireworks, nothing big, just the shower kind since we went to the town my boyfriends parents live in. Fireworks are illegal in most towns, unless it's a city display. But since I live out in the country I've always been able to shoot off the big stuff. We had fun though, even with just sparklers, ground fountains, and smoke bombs.
Yesterday I made my boyfriends family the traditional southern New Years dinner. Pork roast, black eyed peas, cabbage, Macaroni & Cheese, and cornbread. They liked it! I love this article from Epicurious.com on Traditional New Years Dinner meanings. The food we eat on New Years Day and it's symbolism.

I hope everyone has a fantastic year, and that 2016 provides many opportunities, much good luck, and tons of happiness for all!
