This Sunday started out just like most every Sunday, until I got to work. I clean business offices, and local businesses. On Sundays, since there’s no one in the offices, we usually start cleaning around noon. Beginning at the local Thrift Shop on the Downtown Square in Carthage, also known as the Gas Capital of the United Stated and the friendliest spot in the world. Our City motto is 'Country at it's best!'
I had tried to avoid blatantly naming the town where I’m from here on my blog, but what can I do, it’s on the news interview I’m in! If there’s a news interview involved, you know something serious happened. Thankfully I, and everyone involved, are ok! My car, is not ok!

So THAT happened! It was seriously surreal, I can’t explain it any other way. I was less than 30 feet away from it when it happened! If the lady had veered to the right instead of the left, she would have creamed the big work van, and it would have come into the store we were cleaning. Seriously scary stuff. Have you ever seen those World’s Wildest Video shows where somebody come flying up and wrecks into a gas station, or a store. I’ve NEVER seen any video of somebody rear-ending another car into a building, and going in with it. Two vehicles, in one building. Also I would like to clarify my derpy “heard a really loud sound” description. It was a bunch of sounds at once, the deep boom of car impact, the sound of my car breaking the glass front of the building, the slight screech of tires, the sound the building made when the vehicles entered, her engine from her still accelerating. It was a loud sound, of many sounds compounded together. Also I yelled/screamed, “Oh my GOD!” So there’s the clarification of my bad sound description. But 10 minutes earlier, or 10 minutes later, and I would have been getting out of my car arriving, or into my car leaving. The frame is obviously bent, because none of the doors open, we had to break a window at the wrecking yard just to get my purse out! I always keep my phone in my pocket, so at least I had my phone on me to call 911 as soon as it happened. The lady possibly had a medical issue, or had a blackout, we still aren’t sure. She seemed dazed, but otherwise she was alright. But, I’m grateful that it was a parked unoccupied car, into an empty building, and that everyone is ok!
Something kind of humorous has happened as the result of me giving an interview, (to the most professional news reporter, Blake Holland with KGAS! He’s the reason the interview was presentable and good, I was hot and pretty much still a nervous wreck, so he did an awesome job! And props to his editing skills!) it was put on the local news! Not like the town or county we live in, but the three state wide local news! OMG, my brother told me he saw it, and I was able to catch it on KTBS Channel 3! Ahhhhhhhh! I’m a TV star ya’ll. But the funny thing is that less than 24 hours after the story was aired on the news, I was recognized by a random guy! WHAT WHAT?!?!? Lol, I was so embarrassed when he was on the phone one second, looked at me, took the phone away from his ear and said, “Hey, I know you, weren’t you on the TV last night? Yeah! What the Hell happened?!?” I turned beet red, and told him, “Yes sir, that was me!” and shortly explained what happened and that we still don’t really know why it happened. And he actually said to me, “Well you did a great job on your interview!” I was speechless! I’m sure the look on my face must’ve been priceless. I could just barely stammer out a Thank You.
Eeeeeep! And the YouTube video already has over 480 views in less than 48 hours! Crazy! But you know what's really funny, as soon as I saw Blake with KGAS and his camera my first thought was, "Damnit! I'm not dressed for this, and my makeup is in my purse, trapped in the car!" LMFAO!!! Typical, huh?
I just want to thank all my family and friends that have reached out, interacted, and offered their support over this. My guardian angel was definitely watching over me. :)
